Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions Book Design

Flatland is a satirical novella written by Edwin A. Abbott that follows the journey of its narrator, a 2-dimensional square as it discovers Spaceland (three dimensions), Lineland (one dimension) and Pointland (no dimensions) and ultimately entertains thoughts of visiting a land of four dimensions.

This is an experimental book design where the typographic system of the book mimics the existential experience of discovering other worlds and dimensions. Everything we assumed we knew about how the world operates would eventually fall apart just as the rigidly organized grid system that guides the text collapses completely by the end of the second book.
